RED

PLAYFUL. The best word to describe such ensemble. Don't you just love it?? Cause I'm completely head over heels! Probably my favorite out of all my Japan outfits! The red socks from Closet Projx is to die for! It was the cherry on top - I didn't even know I'd actually be able to work out something. This was my focal point cause I bought it especially for Japan. I was actually scared of what the outcome might be, cause that piece of clothing is really not something to mess with. It is easy to go wrong with those bold socks. Whew! Cheers to the stylist in me. Haha! Also, I have to thank my sister for the white sneakers from Bershka I didn't think she'd let me borrow cause it was just sooooo... white. (I never allow her to use any white thing from me btw)  So thanks sistaaar, Tricia Atienza! You can find her on instagram @triciaatienza.

You can follow me too! @lykaatienzaaa Hihi!

Btw, maybe you noticed the minimal number of pictures? It's because my dad was taking them. Love my dad for having to kneel down on one knee and follow my every demand for outfit photos. Hahaha! He was tired by the end of the trip cause of this. Thanks dad!!!

BLANK CANVASS

BACKLOG OVERLOOOOAAADDD!!!

You know, medicine school, you get it.

This outfit is one of the comfiest I've worn. I'm telling you the heels from Charles & Keith themselves are the comfiest heels I've ever had in my life. I love the simple shirt and pants combo and the 'hair away from my face' look. Throughout the day, I was far away from my typical struggles of pulling my shirt down cause it's too short or constantly brushing my hair with my fingers so it stays in place or looking for a place to put down my hand bag just for 10 seconds to allow rest for my forearm. But but but!!! Despite the comfort and simplicity, you have to admit it looks stylish and trendy still!
Factors?
1. The sleek bun which are seen all over the runways
2. The cleanliness of the color white and the strategic positions of the color black, which gives the ensemble its image of power and strength
3. The minutes of red which completes the whole bland outfit

White and red or black and red will always be a great combo, remember that! So when in doubt, you know what to look for. If you don't have any red accessories... red lips will be your best friend!!!

TOUGH CHER

If you are a true 90s baby, you'd definitely know Cher Horowitz from the teenage flick Clueless, played by Alicia Silverstone. And when we're talking about Cher, of course the first thing that comes to mind would be her iconic yellow plaid blazer and skirt coordinates matched with white knee high socks! Any fashionista would die to have one of those heaven sent ensembles!!!

But since I am no Alicia Silverstone, I have put together an outfit that somehow resembles my peg for the day - only in a tougher context. Instead of coordinates, I decided to do a print on print using the staples black and white with a punch of red plaid (yes, the plaid is necessary). And instead of using adorable loafers, I have my trusty booties on!

So now do you get why it's "TOUGH CHER"? :>

RED POX

Wondering why this post is titled as such. Weeeeell, let me give you a brief explanation: the ensemble is infused with just pops of red, just like chicken pox! Naaaaah, lame explanation. Hahaha!

If you have been reading this blog, you would be aware of all these pieces. I have worn them for a number of times already and they're all still alive and kicking until now. Just goes to show, how you should not waste a good piece of clothing; remember: REUSE, REDUCE, & RECYCLE!!!

Seeing this ensemble, what can you think of? Chickenpox? :> Kidding! When I combined these pieces together, the first thing I thought of were those mean popular girls in school back in the 90s. You know, with that skirt and those shoes? And maybe the sunglasses too. Just crop my smiling face, and you'll see it!... So can you? Hahaha! Okay, maybe not. But hey, that was my peg for the day and I think it worked out fine. What do you think? ;)

Remember, when in doubt of what to wear, just think of a character you want to portray. Be that person for a day, through your clothes, but always stay true to your style. Cause you are not you without your unique persona!

APPLE PIE, MY LOVE?

Well hello, my dear. Merry Christmas, sweet pumpkin pie! :)

Don't you just love my prim look and my demure aura? It's as if I was the one who cleaned up my perfectly spotless home? *batts eyelashes*
This is my interpretation of a housewife from the 1950s decade where dirndl skirts are the leader of the pack, just like mine from Apartment 8. But to be more accurate, my inspiration were the ladies from the movie Stepford Wives starring Nicole Kidman! Have you seen this movie??

No?! Then you must see it!!! It's one of my favorite movies of all time!!! I am not exaggerating! It's on the comical side, a tiny bit on the romantic section, but definitely, a beautiful and colorful suspense movie. If you're into fashion, then you'll absolutely love the women's dresses! It's a major fashion reincarnation of the beauty of the 50s with the long skirts, gloves, and sun hats! I'm guessing that's why I also love it so much! If you're into suspense, then you'll be intrigued as to what is underneath the perfect vicinity known as Stepford. And if you just want a feel good movie (which I think it is), then you'll have a good laugh at this; I think the comic is witty and just right, not too exaggerated comedy. Just please, watch it!
And if you do watch it and you do not like it, please don't judge my taste. Hahaha!

Anyway, going back to fashiooon! My take on the home maker look is: number 1, a dirndl skirt! It's girly, fit for a wife, and it's long and loose which makes it easy for me to cook dinner! But mine has got a modern twist, its material is like leather which toughens up its girly appeal! Number 2, a 3/4 sleeve top, I don't know why but somehow when I think of a Stepford wife, I think of three-fourths. And number 3, gigantic jewelry - because their husbands love them so much, he buys her expensive stones like my ring and earrings from SM Accessories (btw, I adore these because they look like sea dollars! Who agrees??)

If you don't get what I am talking about here about my home maker/housewife/stay-at-home mom look, go watch Stepford Wives!!! You'll get a deeper understanding of my outfit... somehow. Hihihi!

CHRISTMAS COLORS

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE!!!
It's that time of the year again when dinner is at midnight (termed noche buena in the Philippines), family reunions are happening in every corner, the cities are filled with lights, and everyone is wearing their cheeriest smiles!!! It's definitely the most wonderful tiiime of the year! And speaking of "wearing", all those who took the time to plan ahead what they'll be donning on this glorious once-a-year holiday, say aye!

AYE! And I am proud to say I was able to combine all Christmas color basics - red, green, and gold - without looking like one of Santa's elves. Hihi!

I would like to excuse my midget size in this photo because I was in such a rush to take this photo and the only person available was my brother who completely had no idea about photography. So this was the result. Hahaha! But it's fine. It's Christmas, so I'll forgive. For now. Bwahaha!
With that, I say, Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!

What did you wear for today's festivities? :)

MODERN

I give you my wearable version of modern architecture! Tadaaaaaaa!

As I have observed, modern architecture characteristics include: minimalist, monotonous, and linear - these were my focal points in dressing up!

MINIMALISM - not too much accessories just a gold watch from Michael Kors and a black tote from Prada. Enough said. It's fun excessorizing but you've got to remember simplicity is beauty. The ensemble was perfect enough as it is. Plus, can you imagine the convenience and comfort of not having too much accessories? Yeeeaaah!

MONOTONOUS - Black and white! Everyone knows how strong these two colors can be, so it was no trouble at all wearing them. However, you know in fashion, a pop of color never hurts! And a pop of red was definitely the right choice.
But may I just say I super duper love this sweater from Forever 21 because of the intelligent mix of cotton in gray and sheer in black! It is absolutely gorgeous and interesting but still a minimalist piece.

LINEAR - This outfit just had the right amount of lines - along the side of the trousers from Forever 21, the strategic cuts of  the shoe from Primadonna, and even the divisions along the top between the cotton and sheer. If I had worn a pair of striped pants or a striped top, then it wouldn't be too minimalist at all, right? (yes, I just had to justify hehe)

Plus, don't you just love how the background matches my modern architecture look? Yeeaah, I'm creative I know. Haha!

PhFW S/S 2013: LEE COOPER JEANS

Well hey hey! It's fashion week again! This is actually a very special season for me because first, this is my first ever fashion week! And second, I was frustrated that I was not able to go last season, though I had the tickets, and so I was desperate to get in this time! The life of a social climber. Hahaha!

FASHION IS YOURS.

The best thing about fashion is that there are no limits. It serves as a platform to express one's self through the colors and patterns, the kind of fabric, the strategic cuts all over the ensemble, or even how the clothing wraps around your body. One does not need to be trendy to be fashionable, whatever you are wearing you  just have to own it! Don't let the outfit wear you! Cause at the end of the day, fashion would be nothing if it weren't for the person wearing the clothing.

The first show I watched was by Lee Cooper Philippines! I have written about Lee Cooper before when I attended their launch HERE

Cause I only brought my phone with me, I just grabbed photos from the net to show you some of the clothing the brand showcased. :)

The show was opened by the Philippine All Stars rolling down the runway!

Celebrities like Bamboo, Kris Lawrence, Rachel Alejandro, and a lot more rocked the show when they performed some well known 80s to 90s songs as the models strutted!

THOSE SHORTS!!!

This was definitely my favorite out of the bunch! Have to get my hands on those socks!!!

There were other celebrities who walked for this UK brand, but the finale was the lovely couple: Divine Lee and Victor Basa.

Soooooo, next up! What I wore to the show!
I must say that I did live up to the brand's pride: the UK flag!

SEE HOW MY TOP AND BAG PERFECTLY MATCHES!!!

Forgive me, I was channeling my inner rock star! Haha!

I was inspired by the brand's rock glam theme during the launch so I came up with this! I love how my outfit screams LEE COOPER!!! The jacket definitely gave this outfit the edge and the liquid pants fulfilled my rock glam mission!

Top, necklace, and circular rings: Forever21 | Pants: Cotton On | Jacket: Karimadon | Bag: Rebel | Bug ring: Yhansy | Wedges: Primadonna
