NO GREY AREAS

The power of black pointed stilettos - no matter how simple the outfit is, a pair of such goodies will instantly transform you into your fiercest femme fatale ego. Maybe because it's pointed and black... it's provocative?

I rarely prefer simple basics such as these, but they're definitely a go-to outfit, especially these sweat pants! Who knew they'd be so fashion forward?! Plus, they're the comfiest! I love how after a day full of errands, you can just immediately throw off your shoes and jump into bed in these oh so fluffy leg wrappers (Yup, I made that up).

This was taken in Power Plant's parking lot by my sister, Tricia. So so love how the backdrop goes with the whole outfit - lots of grey areas there! Hehehe! It was kind of awkward how these photos were taken since a lot of cars were passing by; I think some of them were eyeing this spot but then when they see us there, they would stop for a while then drive away again. We'd be just standing there waiting for them to tell us to get off so they can park, but then seeing that they'd go, we'd continue shooting. So yeah, it was a bit of an on-and-off shoot. Nevertheless, we were able to take awesome photos!!!

COME AND PLAY

This was what I wore when I went to Tokyo Disney Sea on our 3rd day in Japaaaan!!! I just love how the shirt speaks what my mind was screaming the whole time I was in this magical place!!! It was the perfect dress to wear but I tell you I was freezing!!! We went to Disney Sea while a storm was in Tokyo (I know, brave souls right?) and gosh, I wasn't prepared! Good thing my mom had an extra coat I could wear to keep me warm! Buuut! Since it didn't really suit the whole outfit, hence, it was removed. And again, because of the storm, outfit photos were taken indoors. The background is a door in one of the restaurants in the Arabian Coast (you can say it's Aladdin and Jasmine's territory) Yes, that is why it's gold and has that geometric aesthetic. I tell you Disney Sea is a beauty!!! It's similar to Disney land but it's also different in many ways. I don't exactly know how to describe it but the fact is both attractions gave me chills! In Filipino, sooooo kilig!!!

Anyhoo, as you can see, the knee socks and black booties combo are back!!! You can't blame me, I only do it out of the country since we have a different aesthetic in the Philippines, so whisk away! I'm warning you, it will be back again. Hehe! The collar is just something I added to keep the ensemble looking smart amidst the playfulness of it all. And finally, a ponytail... which was actually due to the requirements of the weather. Stormy or sunny, I tell you, the experience is totally worth it!!! Can't wait to blog about the trip soooooon!!!

WALKING IN A MONOTONE WORLD

[The last photo] Oh you know, just not concentrating while taking my outfit shots...

If you have seen my instagram images, you'd know that this was the ensemble I wore on our very first day in Taipei!!! And I will be blogging about our trip soooooon!

To establish contrast from the colorful backdrop of Taipei, I decided to don a full black and white outfit. What I really love about it is the polished and cohesive look. It could pass off in the office, don't you agree? Just not sure about the knee-length socks though; but if your buddies with the boss (or if you ARE the boss), then no problemo! As what I have observed, a pair of knee-high socks adds length to one's figure; and, I guess, most people would want an inch or so added to their height, so I dare you... You'll look taller, at the same time, confident and fab!!!
Also, try to look for dresses like this from Forever 21, it adds curves to any type of body because of the black coca-cola shaped panels. It gives the illusion of a exaggerated feminine body - which is definitely the summit of sexy!

Plus plus plus, what I can declare as my greatest bargain yet are these combat booties I bought in Ximending just beside our hotel!!! Guess how much? FIVE-HUNDRED PESOS (say 12-13 dollars?)!!! Talk about fabuloooooouuuuusssssss! :"> Btw, you will be seeing more of these boots in this blog because these are the shoes I wore for the 3-4 days I stayed in Taiwan. You can't blame me - I was super excited!!!

CHECKMATE

You might be wondering why for the first time ever I did not include any portrait photo! Did you notice? That's right, go back up, look at all the landscape photos.
Well, I have got a very simple answer for you: I had no photographer.
I shot all of these by myself. And since I could not find our tripod, I had to position the camera on top of a table over a pile of books. And can you imagine the height of my lens that time? That is why I am seated in most of the photos.
Did I mention it was super hot that day? Since I had no remote, I had to angle the camera, press the timer, run to the position, fix my self a bit, and pose. Then go back to the camera again and check the image. Then, do the same sequence all over again. I was literally sweating like a pig (hoping you don't see it in the photos!).
Oh the things you do for fashion!

So enough about that no photographer day, on to my outfit! If I can recall clearly, I had errands to do on that day. And if you're as busy as me, or even busier, then comfort is the first thing that should be in your mind. I think I achieved the comfy look perfectly with this matching top and bottom from The Ramp! What I love about this is you've got an automatic romper kind of look which makes it less hassle if you're thinking of how to match a certain top with hundreds of bottoms. However, if you're being creative, you have two separate pieces that can both be worn in so many ways! Talk about hitting two birds with one stone!
And what really attracted me is how classy the print and the design is even with a playful romper kind of look.

To further polish (cause you know I am the polished kind of girl), I just had to match with a set of pearl earrings, a pair of golden cap toed shoes from Primadonna, tied up hair, a simple black watch from UnlimitedManila , and a white bag from Zara that's big enough to carry my essentials and small enough for situations when I am in a rush.

Polished dressing doesn't mean having to look uptight, and comfy dressing doesn't mean having to look lazy. You just have to strategize in order to achieve the perfect mix of genres.

MODERN

I give you my wearable version of modern architecture! Tadaaaaaaa!

As I have observed, modern architecture characteristics include: minimalist, monotonous, and linear - these were my focal points in dressing up!

MINIMALISM - not too much accessories just a gold watch from Michael Kors and a black tote from Prada. Enough said. It's fun excessorizing but you've got to remember simplicity is beauty. The ensemble was perfect enough as it is. Plus, can you imagine the convenience and comfort of not having too much accessories? Yeeeaaah!

MONOTONOUS - Black and white! Everyone knows how strong these two colors can be, so it was no trouble at all wearing them. However, you know in fashion, a pop of color never hurts! And a pop of red was definitely the right choice.
But may I just say I super duper love this sweater from Forever 21 because of the intelligent mix of cotton in gray and sheer in black! It is absolutely gorgeous and interesting but still a minimalist piece.

LINEAR - This outfit just had the right amount of lines - along the side of the trousers from Forever 21, the strategic cuts of  the shoe from Primadonna, and even the divisions along the top between the cotton and sheer. If I had worn a pair of striped pants or a striped top, then it wouldn't be too minimalist at all, right? (yes, I just had to justify hehe)

Plus, don't you just love how the background matches my modern architecture look? Yeeaah, I'm creative I know. Haha!

STARTING 2013 WITH A BANG!

This is the work of Patricia Atienza. This girl is a multimedia artist! She is a painter, an aspiring architect, and now, she is slowly creeping to the world of photography.
And since, I, the ate, is an aspiring model, who by the way only has one blank expression, we decided to collaborate and end 2012 with a BANG - a mini photo shoot.

Yes, I warned you, this is the work of amateurs so do not judge.

Tadaaaaaaaaa! And for some of the blooper moments...

Here I was, trying to do a runway on the streets.

Giving you a new year kiss!

Tried being fierce but no can do.

Bang! Knocked your socks off, didn't I? Hahaha

What I do best - SMILE! :)
