NEW WORLD

On days of ultimate trials in my life (ehem exams ehem), I was kept sane by serenades of Disney songs, one of which was 'A Whole New World' from the Disney classic, Aladdin. And the best way for me to show my love for an object is through FASHOOWN.

Since I do not have any pieces of Princess Jasmine's all-turquoise ensemble, I had to settle for what's available inside my closet.

1. The off-shoulder is a must!!! If Jasmine is the peg, this piece cannot be bargained
2. The baggy pants
3. The gold chunk of neck-piece

All I need is my thick black mane and my own magic carpet!

CAREFREE

Whew! 5th block exams are finally overrrrrrr!!!!!!! It was the most exhausting so far in my med life. At last, I'm back in the arms of my fashion, my blog, and my free time. I have at least a month to relax, sleep, and just be carefree!

Just like today's post, though at sight the outfit doesn't scream carefree - kinda looks like the opposite actually - with its dark palette and constricted feels, but really I feel as free as bird in this ensemble! The dress was slim but loose enough to allow me to breathe, the flats are the best so I wouldn't worry about having to balance on skytower heels, and the hair is braided to the side so I would stop fixing my hair in place every now and then. This is one of the outfits, I can say, would be the comfiest I've been.

But of course, we are not going out of the house without adding a few trinkets. Well actually, I just had one - this beautiful necklace my friend, Sharlyn Guvean, gave me!!! But it was all that I needed. I love how playful its is with all its metal fringe and the design itself is extravagant but very light on the neck. It isn't as heavy as it looks. It made me look like I did more effort on the outfit than I actually did.

So happy to write again and to edit photos and to publish another post. Oh how I've missed! Nevertheless, I'm happy to be in a place where I can pursue my life-long dream. In one month though, I'm back to the aroma of caffeine and to the kisses of sleepless nights. Hahaha!

CASUALLY

Today is a casually pastel day! Don't you just love the colors? I feel oh so fluffy and heavenly hihi! You can tell by the jeans and the white sneakers, I wanted to lie low for a while on the stilettos and skirts and trade all that for "normcore" - what the internet defines as unpretentious, average-looking clothing.

But lo and behold, I faileeeed. I just couldn't let go of my histrionic self and went for sparkles and a white coat. Imagine wearing bright sparkles for a day outfit hehe! You see the short pink top I have on? Yes, it is studded with sparkles! I LOVE IT!!! Hint: when you're trying to give me a present, oh you know maybe for Christmas or birthday or Valentine's, anything with sparkles will surely brighten up my day!

Despite the contradictions between the top and the bottom part of this ensemble, I simply adore how it turned out! You might notice, "I love how it turned out" is one of my go-to lines, that's because I really don't plan on this outfits. Sometimes, or most of the time, I just get pieces from my closet and surprise myself of how they become. See why I love fashion?? Filled with surprises and adventures!!!

NO GREY AREAS

The power of black pointed stilettos - no matter how simple the outfit is, a pair of such goodies will instantly transform you into your fiercest femme fatale ego. Maybe because it's pointed and black... it's provocative?

I rarely prefer simple basics such as these, but they're definitely a go-to outfit, especially these sweat pants! Who knew they'd be so fashion forward?! Plus, they're the comfiest! I love how after a day full of errands, you can just immediately throw off your shoes and jump into bed in these oh so fluffy leg wrappers (Yup, I made that up).

This was taken in Power Plant's parking lot by my sister, Tricia. So so love how the backdrop goes with the whole outfit - lots of grey areas there! Hehehe! It was kind of awkward how these photos were taken since a lot of cars were passing by; I think some of them were eyeing this spot but then when they see us there, they would stop for a while then drive away again. We'd be just standing there waiting for them to tell us to get off so they can park, but then seeing that they'd go, we'd continue shooting. So yeah, it was a bit of an on-and-off shoot. Nevertheless, we were able to take awesome photos!!!

LAST OF THEM

Yup, it's the last of my Japan outfits finally! This last day was a total last minute outfit plan - just my mom's coat. I was supposed to wear something else but it was too cold already, I just couldn't. But still, that didn't stop me from baring skin hehehe!

What I love about out of the country trips is being able to dress up differently from your usual. I can't wear this in the Philippines - I'll surely die of heat stroke from the inside of my coat! I love how simple the pieces are but together, it's a powerful boom!!! Dark colors always convey strength in the eyes of the beholder hahaha!

TRENCH

You might be wondering why I'm wearing a trench coat right here in sunny Manila... that's because this wasn't taken in Manila. If you scroll down a bit you'll see that my last blog post is about my outfit shots in Japan. So yup, you guessed it right, this is a month's backlog from my Japan trip. I've got tons of backlogs so expect me flooding your feed hehehe!

Anyhoo, this is what I wore to Tokyo Disneyland!!! At first I thought everything was a mismatch but for some reason, it looks cute to me... so what the heck! Sometimes, in life, the things that don't go with each other are the ones that are perfect for one another. Mehehe! Yeah, cite me: (Atienza, 2014). Mind you, this is one of my tiis ganda moments - it was freezing!!! At first, I really thought I could get through the whole day in this, but when evening came, I really had no choice but to change into pants. My legs would have turned into twin popsicles if I hadn't switched for a pair of blue jeans. Hahaha! And that's one of the rare moments I chose comfort over style.

There are times, though, when you really just have to choose comfort over style, like for this day, I chose to wear sneakers and a backpack since I'll be playing the whole day in the happiest place on earth!!! I wouldn't have enjoyed as much if I had chosen complicated pieces.

RED

PLAYFUL. The best word to describe such ensemble. Don't you just love it?? Cause I'm completely head over heels! Probably my favorite out of all my Japan outfits! The red socks from Closet Projx is to die for! It was the cherry on top - I didn't even know I'd actually be able to work out something. This was my focal point cause I bought it especially for Japan. I was actually scared of what the outcome might be, cause that piece of clothing is really not something to mess with. It is easy to go wrong with those bold socks. Whew! Cheers to the stylist in me. Haha! Also, I have to thank my sister for the white sneakers from Bershka I didn't think she'd let me borrow cause it was just sooooo... white. (I never allow her to use any white thing from me btw)  So thanks sistaaar, Tricia Atienza! You can find her on instagram @triciaatienza.

You can follow me too! @lykaatienzaaa Hihi!

Btw, maybe you noticed the minimal number of pictures? It's because my dad was taking them. Love my dad for having to kneel down on one knee and follow my every demand for outfit photos. Hahaha! He was tired by the end of the trip cause of this. Thanks dad!!!

COME AND PLAY

This was what I wore when I went to Tokyo Disney Sea on our 3rd day in Japaaaan!!! I just love how the shirt speaks what my mind was screaming the whole time I was in this magical place!!! It was the perfect dress to wear but I tell you I was freezing!!! We went to Disney Sea while a storm was in Tokyo (I know, brave souls right?) and gosh, I wasn't prepared! Good thing my mom had an extra coat I could wear to keep me warm! Buuut! Since it didn't really suit the whole outfit, hence, it was removed. And again, because of the storm, outfit photos were taken indoors. The background is a door in one of the restaurants in the Arabian Coast (you can say it's Aladdin and Jasmine's territory) Yes, that is why it's gold and has that geometric aesthetic. I tell you Disney Sea is a beauty!!! It's similar to Disney land but it's also different in many ways. I don't exactly know how to describe it but the fact is both attractions gave me chills! In Filipino, sooooo kilig!!!

Anyhoo, as you can see, the knee socks and black booties combo are back!!! You can't blame me, I only do it out of the country since we have a different aesthetic in the Philippines, so whisk away! I'm warning you, it will be back again. Hehe! The collar is just something I added to keep the ensemble looking smart amidst the playfulness of it all. And finally, a ponytail... which was actually due to the requirements of the weather. Stormy or sunny, I tell you, the experience is totally worth it!!! Can't wait to blog about the trip soooooon!!!

LEATHERETTE

First day OOTD in Japan!!!
Don't you just love the leather on leather combo? It may look as if it's hot to wear but believe me it was way way colder in Japan! And yes, despite the freezing breeze, I still went out with my tummy exposed to add fun to the whole serious tomboy outfit. That's what you call "tiis ganda!" Hahaha!

The focal point of this ensemble is the jacket - my boyfriend's jacket, actually - I love the combo of cotton, made to look like denim, and the leather sleeves. Whoever made this is a genius!!! So cool and sassy! I wish I could keep this forever! Ahem ahem! *wink wink*

Anyhoo, rushing this post cause my mom's being clingy and is forcing me to have lunch with her. Hahaha! Four more outfits in store for you, Japan styleeee!
