RED

PLAYFUL. The best word to describe such ensemble. Don't you just love it?? Cause I'm completely head over heels! Probably my favorite out of all my Japan outfits! The red socks from Closet Projx is to die for! It was the cherry on top - I didn't even know I'd actually be able to work out something. This was my focal point cause I bought it especially for Japan. I was actually scared of what the outcome might be, cause that piece of clothing is really not something to mess with. It is easy to go wrong with those bold socks. Whew! Cheers to the stylist in me. Haha! Also, I have to thank my sister for the white sneakers from Bershka I didn't think she'd let me borrow cause it was just sooooo... white. (I never allow her to use any white thing from me btw)  So thanks sistaaar, Tricia Atienza! You can find her on instagram @triciaatienza.

You can follow me too! @lykaatienzaaa Hihi!

Btw, maybe you noticed the minimal number of pictures? It's because my dad was taking them. Love my dad for having to kneel down on one knee and follow my every demand for outfit photos. Hahaha! He was tired by the end of the trip cause of this. Thanks dad!!!

COME AND PLAY

This was what I wore when I went to Tokyo Disney Sea on our 3rd day in Japaaaan!!! I just love how the shirt speaks what my mind was screaming the whole time I was in this magical place!!! It was the perfect dress to wear but I tell you I was freezing!!! We went to Disney Sea while a storm was in Tokyo (I know, brave souls right?) and gosh, I wasn't prepared! Good thing my mom had an extra coat I could wear to keep me warm! Buuut! Since it didn't really suit the whole outfit, hence, it was removed. And again, because of the storm, outfit photos were taken indoors. The background is a door in one of the restaurants in the Arabian Coast (you can say it's Aladdin and Jasmine's territory) Yes, that is why it's gold and has that geometric aesthetic. I tell you Disney Sea is a beauty!!! It's similar to Disney land but it's also different in many ways. I don't exactly know how to describe it but the fact is both attractions gave me chills! In Filipino, sooooo kilig!!!

Anyhoo, as you can see, the knee socks and black booties combo are back!!! You can't blame me, I only do it out of the country since we have a different aesthetic in the Philippines, so whisk away! I'm warning you, it will be back again. Hehe! The collar is just something I added to keep the ensemble looking smart amidst the playfulness of it all. And finally, a ponytail... which was actually due to the requirements of the weather. Stormy or sunny, I tell you, the experience is totally worth it!!! Can't wait to blog about the trip soooooon!!!

LEATHERETTE

First day OOTD in Japan!!!
Don't you just love the leather on leather combo? It may look as if it's hot to wear but believe me it was way way colder in Japan! And yes, despite the freezing breeze, I still went out with my tummy exposed to add fun to the whole serious tomboy outfit. That's what you call "tiis ganda!" Hahaha!

The focal point of this ensemble is the jacket - my boyfriend's jacket, actually - I love the combo of cotton, made to look like denim, and the leather sleeves. Whoever made this is a genius!!! So cool and sassy! I wish I could keep this forever! Ahem ahem! *wink wink*

Anyhoo, rushing this post cause my mom's being clingy and is forcing me to have lunch with her. Hahaha! Four more outfits in store for you, Japan styleeee!

SUNNY HOLIDAY

Oh yes, when I am in a place that I really like, I tend to be a little touristy. Teehee!

If you have read this blog from way way back, you'd think "hey! This dress is familiar" Aaaand you're right, this was the dress I wore on my very first post!

Let this be Lyka's iconic dress - years from now, when I'm considered a woman of history, they'd go back to this sunny yellow cutout dress. It shall be an icon like Audrey Hepburn's LBD, Marilyn Monroe's white dress, or Jackie O's pink suit. Mark my worrrds. Bwahahaha! *cuckoo!

Anyway, back to reality!!! Remember that when you invest in clothing, make sure it's going to be with you for the long run. Don't just go for the one-time use habit, we have to be practical! Like this one, I've used it many many times, and it has always been sturdy and can still make heads turn! Plus, remember styling is the key so it wouldn't look a bore. You'll be surprised as to how many times you could use it, and no one would notice that you've worn it for the nth time.

This was the 2nd outfit in Taipei, only one more to go!

POCAHONTAS

Don't these images remind you of...

You think you own whatever land you land on,
The Earth is just a dead thing you can play
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life
Has a spirit
Has a name

If you don't know that song, well then I can't imagine how miserable your childhood was. Haha! Kidding!!! Pocahontas wasn't my actual peg for this outfit. I was going for a more "gypsy mermaid" kind of look (which was supposed to be the original title of this post). My sister and I were planning to take the outfit shots on the beach, that is until we saw this beautiful rocks and trees backdrop - then it was a total turnover! The slippers came off to take hold of that authentic pocahontas-one-with-nature feel. I just love it!!!

The skirt from RipplesbyJenny (instagram) is absolutely lovely! It's very light and soft, and is very comfortable. Plus, it's an automatic "aircon" for the legs! Hahaha! Expect to see this again on this blog - this time for a tougher look. See! It's also versatile. The whole nature-esque feel was completed by the floral top I got from Phuket, Thailand, and the flower crown from Fiori Manila! I mean, hello! If you want to be one with nature, then there's no better way than to wear flowers. And let's not forget the anklet I got from a boutique in Lakeshore, a stop-over on NLEX. We just bought this on the way, it costs only PHP10! So what the heck, we just went for it - added a cute touch to my outfit, don't you think? And as an explanation for the tremendous number of rings... keep in mind, my peg was originally GYPSY mermaid. So they had to stay. Hahaha!

I can't wait for another disney princess look - though I don't know how I can pull off the others... Oh well! Might just surprise you! :)
