FIRST BLOCK

The aftermath of my first block in medicine school - one month hiatus on blogging, no more social events on weekends, staying awake at 1 in the morning (although I do get to sneak in a few 10pm slumbers once in a while hihi)... it is a bit stressful. But despite the hustle and bustle, I must say, I really love what I am doing! It feels like I've finally understood the sense of going to school!!! It took me 16 years of academic life to realize that... It just goes to show, this is more or less the right path for me. I am living the dream!!!

So anyhooooo, hopefully, with 5 months still (or 5 months left!!!) till our next exam, I'd be able to blog more often. HOPEFULLY, fingers crossed.

And to commemorate my post grad life, here's an outfit that exudes womanliness - "always classy, never trashy!" So the staples are on the line: a crisp white button down, denim jeans, a denim polo even, and of course, black pointed stilettos! Everything are in clean lines, just added a bit of fun with the asymmetrical tucking of the shirt; of course, even if you're mature and all, you'd still rather be "absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring".

I've quoted Marilyn Monroe twice just in one post, which is ironic because, really, I'm more of a Hepburn girl! Audrey Hepburn is who I consider the epitome of class. She's not just pretty and an icon of fashion- but oh gosh, she is BEAUTIFUL!!! And her style is to die for!!! - she knows what really matters in life: that is to make a change in the world, thus becoming the International Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF. And despite being in the hollywood limelight, she never made headlines because of scandals, but mostly because of her wit, her speeches, her advocacies, and of course, her harmless romantic comedies.
With that, I end this post with a quote from my icon, which I believe is what every woman should be an advocate of: to preclude the objectification of women, and to avoid stereotyping of what society thinks is sexy.

"There is more to sex appeal than just measurements. I don't need a bedroom to prove my womanliness. I can convey just as much sex appeal picking apples off a tree or standing in the rain"
-Audrey Hepburn

PHFW S/S 2013: CARY SANTIAGO

Fashion is one of the most celebrated artistry in the world! Like any good literature, designing and styling requires patience, discipline, and a very creative mind. You don't just pull things out from nowhere. So it's just right that we celebrate the brilliant designers of our country, and the best way to do that is through a fashion week!
Cary Santiago is one of the most in-demand fashion designers in the country, even beyond! His couture gowns and evening dresses definitely epitomize luxury and glamour. His designs are very intricate and elaborate but are intelligently placed on very specific areas on the clothing so as not to go over the top. Defintely, a perfect balance between glamour and class!

I watched the show alone and once more, I only brought with me my phone so the photos I was able to take were very blurry! I don't want to hurt your eyes so I took some from STYLEBIBLE.PH :)

I just love the origami-like designs, very very beautiful! That's what I'm talking about when I say an intelligent balance between glamour and class.

This is my favorite cause of the magnificent flow of the garment, it's as graceful as water.

A huge stunning pearly white ball gown, the perfect finale!

When I saw the name Cary Santiago on my e-invite, I knew this would be the perfect dress to wear. It's classy, it's elegant, and it's got that peplum thing going on at the front which makes it more glamorous!
