FRINGE BLUES

Fringes, in different patterns and in whatever color, are all the rage this season! And who could blame human kind? They're just too darn cute and fun!!! Luckily, I got mine in December from my college blockmate, Althea Fontz! She gave it as a gift for our christmas party (which was, of course, stated under my wish list hahaha!) Thanks Thea!!!

I love how monotoned this outfit is: from the flash lens aviators from Ray Ban, to the fringe bikini from Eazy Fashion, to the denim shorts I got from Bubble Drop (Taiwan), until to the very tip of my toes! It's all different shades of blue. And of course, I had to add a fresh ounce of white to finish it off. I just love the color white because it instantly makes one look fresh and appealing to the eyes, that's why white is my go-to color! When in doubt, look for something white! How about you? What's your go-to color?

It's already May but rest assured that summer is still not over. Actually the heat is just getting started! That's why it's too damn hot in the Philippines right now!!! So head on to the beach with friends, frolick in the sand, and bare out your bikinis! Cause May is just the beginning! Heck, I've got so much planning to do for all my beach trips with different friends. Cause we're so lazy we just decided now to even plan something. Hahaha! Good luck to us! And happy May to all of you!!!

AID COUTURE

If you have been watching television or surfing the internet lately, then you are very much aware of the calamity that has hit the Visayas of the Philippines. Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan), the strongest typhoon ever recorded, has left a tragic scene for the world to see. Homes have been demolished, families have been separated, and the wost, thousands of lives were lost.

We need all the hands we could get. People are in desperate need of food and water.

To all fashionistas out there, you too can help at the same time do something you really love - shopping!

Frequently, the Philippine Red Cross receives clothing donations that are not exactly apt for calamity victims. And so, they have decided, together with Ariel and Downy, to launch a fashion fundraiser: AID COUTURE.

They are going to publicly sell preloved items restored and renewed by the country's top stylists: Vicky Herrera, Happy Andrada, Paulo Castro, and Jujiin Samonte.

This is to maximize funds that our country needs for present and future relief efforts.

The event will be held on November 16-17 at Alabang Town Center.

Your love for fashion can feed a nation.
HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!

PHILIPPINE FASHION WEEK SS 2013

It's that second time of the year again, Philippine Fashion Week is alive and kicking once more - giving us the upcoming trends for next year's summer season! I was privileged enough to be invited to three shows, however, due to the unlikely circumstances, I was able to attend only one!

Despite the sob story of missing two shows, I am still very happy to be able to see the wonderful collections of 5 designers: Anthony Ramirez, Chris Jasler, Lizanne Cua, Melchor Guinto, and Randall Solomon.

Out of the 5 designers, two brilliantly stood out for me.

MELCHOR GUINTO
The second his bright yellow collection walked on the runway, there was a like a choir angels singing above me, alas! SUMMER IS HERE! And it is waiting for us in bold blues, reds, yellows, and florals! It was a very striking collection and is truly meant to be strutted under the heat of summer, one can't ask for more. Plus, the addition of the chinese-like slippers that all models wore was just priceless! Three words to describe this collection: bold, conspicuous, and grabby!
Below are some of my favorites from his collection. (Photos taken from STYLE BIBLE)

RANDALL SOLOMON
This collection was painted with pastels and light colors, in contrast to Melchor Guinto's bold choices. What I admired most about this collection is the intricacy and complexity of the garments. First dress that came out, you know instantly this collection is truly loved by its designer and was delivered with hard work (maybe even a bit of sweat and tears). Traditionally, we think the more voluminous the gown or the longer the train, the more beautiful the dress is. But at the dawn of this age in fashion, designers have been disproving "the bigger, the better" mentality, they focus on quality over quantity, and Randall Solomon did just that.

Below are some of my favorite pieces from the other designers:

Opening the show was ANTHONY RAMIREZ

CHRIS JASLER

LIZANNE CUA

And finally, to wrap this up - what I wore to fashion week!!!
